Abstract—Fuzzy temporal data have been used to support temporal knowledge representation and reason in the presence of fuzziness, which are still open issues. Meantime, XML is expected to become the next generation standard language for exchanging data over the Internet, which will become a trend to represent fuzzy temporal data based on XML. However, XML document may contain inconsistencies that violate predefined temporal constraints, which causes the data inconsistency problem. Although the problem of consistency in XML documents has been widely studied, these studies only take the generic data into account. However, the problem of fuzzy temporal XML document is seldom concerned. In this paper, we consider the inconsistent definition of fuzzy temporal XML data. Then, we analyze inconsistent state which is named discontinuity or overlap or cycle on time. Finally, we put forward the corresponding methods to check and fix the fuzzy temporal XML document according to the inconsistent state.
